Broadcasting Board of Governors – worst place to work in U.S. federal government
BBG Watch Commentary
As reported by Federal News Radio, the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) is the worst place to work among mid-size federal agencies. The BBG is once again at the bottom of the list. The BBG, which is in charge of U.S. international broadcasting, is run by a bipartisan board, but day-to-day administrative operations are the responsibility of the International Broadcasting Bureau Director Richard Lobo and his executive staff. While Richard Lobo is a recent political appointee, his executives have been running the agency for many years. Instead of replacing them, he kept them and rewarded them with high bonuses despite their dismal record in previous years as well. Most recently, they took no action while Radio Liberty in Russia was being destroyed due to misguided personnel and programming decisions by unqualified managers.
